I have the great fortune of sitting on the Board of Directors for the Greater Triangle Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. When hurricane Debby hit in August, 2024, I was able to spend time in a shelter assisting those in need.

CARY’S TREE CANOPY is important to me, and I appreciated learning more about its challenges at the Cary Environmental Symposium. Led by George McDowell, the Town of Cary, in cooperation with Trees for the Triangle, Inc., held its first of five events Sept.1st. To catch the others, go to: carytreearchive.org/index.html.
The Cary Chamber of Commerce hosts a candidate forum. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn about each candidate's platform. I will be excited to share all of the great things I want to do for Cary.
Cary is such a diverse community. It's always great to attend area cultural events including India's Independence Day celebration at the HSNC Temple.
Congressman Wiley Nickel and I attended the "Sound the Alarm" event in support of The American Red Cross. This amazing organization, which I am proud to serve on as a member of the Board of Directors, alleviates human sufferings by helping people affected by disasters, supporting military families, delivering lifesaving blood, as well as teaching critical life-saving skills. While going through neighborhoods, Wiley and I had the opportunity to discuss policy.
I was honored to attend the Heart of Cary anniversary meeting. Cofounders Ralph, Ashworth, Curtis Westbrook, and Sheila Ogle were in attendance. They shared their experiences on how the organization created a strong footprint for the Town of Cary.
What a terrific time at the Hindu Society of North Carolina's 2022 Holi festival at the Temple in Morrisville. I enjoyed the wonderful activities, dancing , joyous atmosphere and of course...the colors! I also had an informative meeting with the Asian Americans Together group while there.
I love loading trees into vehicles for participants in the Town of Cary's My Tree, Our Tree program. I am all for bringing back Cary's tree canopies!
I attended the Cary Chamber of Commerce State of Cary presented by Mayor Weinbrecht. It was fertile with information and provided a clear picture of what yet needs to be done, including more attention to the environment and workforce housing. I'm rolling up my sleeves!
